What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network and Automation Expert position at Lonza?
The System Engineer will play a critical role in supporting ongoing operations at Lonza. This position requires a highly skilled professional who can design and implement computerized systems infrastructure for process automation and QC laboratory systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical resources to operations customers to ensure that systems are designed and operating to meet production needs.
- Assist with planning and execution of plant projects involving computerized infrastructure changes and process improvements.
- Maintain system integrity and identify performance and security improvements.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support to resolve issues outside of normal business hours.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or significant related work experience accepted.
- Experience developing technical documentation for networks and information systems.
- Knowledge of servers, storage, network and related infrastructure fundamentals; operating systems; Windows and Linux; deployment applications; Symantec Ghost, Acronis; programming languages; VB Script, .Net, and SQL preferred; Cisco and 3Com network switching and network monitoring utilities; and/or with Citrix Metaframe or Microsoft Terminal Services.
