What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Worker position at Looking Glass Youth and Family Services?
The Maintenance Worker assists in the repair and upkeep of the Looking Glass program facilities; including building exteriors and grounds maintenance.
This position will work 40 hours per week typically Monday-Friday between 7a-5p and must have a flexible schedule to work based on program needs. This may include some weekends and overtime hours.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS :
Experience : 1-2 years working in a maintenance-related field, experience includes drywall repairs, windows, doors, floors, ceilings, & groundskeeping in a commercial capacity. Using power tools, & hand tools.
Availability : Monday-Friday-7am-5pm; flexibility based on program needs which may include weekends / and / or overtime
Certifications : Valid Oregon Driver's license, acceptable record insurable under Agency's auto insurance.
Ability to :
Learn basic carpentry, plaster repair, minor electrical, minor plumbing, and landscaping.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to work / interact with all our youth client populations.
Ability to work effectively as a member of an integrated team.
Ability to relate effectively with youth, parents, community, and suppliers.
Ability to work in a structured, sometimes stressful environment, and maintain a positive mental attitude.

Essential Functions :
- Perform general repairs, painting, and maintenance of the facilities and furnishings.
- Build shelves, cabinets, and other items as needed. Purchase required supplies as authorized.
- Perform necessary repairs and upkeep of appliances and household plumbing in Looking Glass program facilities.
- May maintain facility grounds including the lawn, garage, flower, and garden areas.
- May assist in request and coordination of bids from outside contractors, per program needs.
- Complete minor maintenance to program vehicles, and / or arrange for major repairs with supervisor's authorization.
- Organize shop and tool storage areas.
- Purchase maintenance and / or repair supplies as needed.
- Will occasionally perform transportation of large or heavy objects for Looking Glass programs.
- Completes other duties as assigned
