We're looking for a Network Specialist to be our connectivity expert - keeping chargers online, diagnosing network issues, and ensuring our systems operate efficiently.
What You’ll Be Doing
Network Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve network and EV charger connectivity issues, both remotely and in the field.
- Assist customers and field technicians in solving connectivity problems.
- Troubleshoot returned chargers and networking equipment to ensure timely repair or replacement.
Pre-Commissioning Preparation
- Update firmware and software before chargers are deployed.
- Load and test configuration files to ensure smooth operation.
- Perform functionality tests, including derating for specific installations.
Network Configuration and Management
- Configure and manage networking hardware, including routers, switches, access points, and cellular devices (CradlePoint, Ubiquiti).
- Set up secure, reliable network environments tailored to specific deployment needs.
- Manage SIM card activations, deactivations, and cellular data services.
Commissioning Support
- Work with field teams to ensure chargers and networks are properly integrated.
- Provide remote and on-site support for connectivity validation.
- Verify IP schema, VLANs, routing, and firewall configurations.
Documentation and Process Improvement
- Maintain detailed records of network configurations, troubleshooting efforts, and pre-commissioning activities.
- Identify recurring issues and suggest process improvements.
- Create troubleshooting guides and FAQs to improve team efficiency.
What You Bring
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, and network diagnostics.
- Experience with Linux-based systems and tools such as PuTTY or TeraTerm.
- Preferred certifications: CompTIA Network , CCNA, or equivalent.
Problem-Solving and Communication
- Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
- Ability to explain networking concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- High level of professionalism and accountability.
Work Environment
- Hybrid Role: Based out of our Phoenix, AZ Logistics Hub, with occasional fieldwork.
- Flexible Work Hours & Travel: Some travel (<20%) within and outside the state may be required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work on-site, kneel, and handle color-coded wiring.
Qualifications
- Education: Technical college degree or relevant certifications preferred.
- Experience: 5-7 years in networking or related roles, including hardware deployment (routers, switches, access points).
- Preferred Experience: Familiarity with EV charging infrastructure or similar technical environments.
