Summary :
My client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Estimator to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. You will analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to calculate project costs, collaborating with contractors, suppliers, and project managers to ensure all aspects of the project are efficiently managed.
Key Responsibilities :
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to estimate labor, material, and equipment costs for commercial general contracting projects.
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates, bid proposals, and budgets that ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
- Analyze historical project data to establish accurate benchmarks for future projects.
- Solicit pricing from subcontractors, material suppliers, and vendors to secure competitive bids.
- Maintain and foster relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors to ensure quality and cost-effective solutions.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to ensure alignment of project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Present cost estimates and bid proposals to clients and project stakeholders.
- Provide cost-saving recommendations and value engineering options when applicable.
- Identify potential project risks and provide recommendations to mitigate them.
- Ensure estimates adhere to industry standards, local building codes, and company guidelines.
- Track the progress of ongoing projects, comparing actual costs with original estimates and identifying discrepancies.
- Assist in post-project evaluations to ensure continuous improvement in the estimating process.
