What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paralegal position at LOOP?
Our client is seeking an experienced Paralegal specializing in personal injury and wrongful death cases. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in personal injury law, with a strong understanding of insurance coverage and claims handling. The role requires a highly organized individual with excellent attention to detail, the ability to manage complex case files, and experience collaborating with clients, experts, and opposing counsel to ensure cases progress efficiently.
Essential functions :
- Research and analyze law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, and legal codes.
- Research medical terms, injuries, pharmaceuticals, and medical-related records.
- Prepare legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, and motions for review by an attorney
- Subpoena medical records from various providers. Follow up with providers to ensure timely delivery of requested records. Prepare medical chronologies and summaries.
- Coordination of depositions. Scheduling, possible witness preparation, and attendance at deposition including summarization of deposition.
- Create a trial notebook, pre-trial preparation, and trial attendance.
