Systems Administrator

The Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining our company's cloud-based IT infrastructure and services, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability of systems. This role involves handling responsibilities across various domains, including security, server, cloud, and application administration. This position includes troubleshooting, system upgrades, and collaborating with other IT professionals to support business operations. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, understand security best practices, have strong problem-solving skills, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls aligned with the principle of least privilege.
• Monitor system and application access to protect against unauthorized access.
• Implement and maintain security protocols to protect systems and data.
• Conduct regular security audits and respond to security issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software, and hardware.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and changes.
• Coordinate release management of applications, policies, and patches thru testing and change-control processes.
• Perform regular system maintenance, including software and firmware updates.
• Minimize vulnerability risk thru configuration hardening and removal of non-approved and unnecessary software.
• Identify, test, and deploy security vulnerability remediations.
• Manage Internet browser policies, including installed extensions and outbound access.
• Collaborate with IT team members to plan and execute system upgrades and improvements.
• Help provision and collect equipment (e.g., laptops) for new hires and terminations.
• Maintain accurate inventory records to ensure proper asset tracking and licensing compliance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and office equipment issues.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
• Provide occasional after-hours support when needed to ensure the continuity and reliability of IT services.

Required Skills/Abilities

Technical Experience:

·       A qualified degree in information technology or similar, or equivalent relevant experience and certification

·       3-5 years of proven experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role.

·       Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.).

·       Experience with Active Directory, group policies, and other core infrastructure services.

·       Experience with Microsoft O365 administration and management.

Preferred Experience:

·       Experience with cloud network environments and virtualization technologies (e.g., Azure).

·       Experience with security frameworks and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, SOC2, NIST, etc.).

·       Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator) are a plus.

·       Experience with AI tools and services.

Travel:

This role requires the ability to travel to Loopback’s corporate office upon short notice if/when working remotely.
