Feed Mill Supervisor (Modesto, CA)
Compensation: Dependent on Experience (DOE)
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Feed Mill Supervisor to lead our team at our feed mill. The ideal candidate will prioritize quality control and work collaboratively with all feed mill employees. Primary responsibilities will include coordinating all scheduling, training, performance coaching, loading/unloading trucks, etc., in conjunction with upper management.
Working conditions:

- Outside weather conditions.
- Moving mechanical parts, fumes/airborne particles, and heights.
- Moderate noise levels.
Job Duties (include but not limited to):
- Ensuring a safe working environment.
- Working closely with management and employees to maintain a high degree of quality control.
- Collaborating with employees when necessary.
- Oversee compliance with scheduled rest periods and meal breaks for employees.
- Understand and enforce all receiving, shipping/loading, sampling, and other material handling procedures.
- Assist in the training for new employees in elements of Safety, Production, Packaging, Housekeeping, following all aspects of the Food Safety Modernization Act and following customers’ requirements as they pertain to food for animals.
- Accountable for the Quality and Production of animal feed ingredients and help controlling costs related to production, preventive maintenance, and labor hours required.
- Operate and/or oversee proper equipment operation and safety.
- Adhere to Quality Assurance Policies/Standards for the sanitary handling of Animal Food.
- Maintain Food Safety Modernization Act’s (FSMA) current Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Feed Mill housekeeping & general facility cleanup records as required by FSMA.
- Participate in employee performance evaluations, recognition, and disciplinary recommendations.
- Lead by example and perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Commitment to safe working practices.
- Previous feed mill, heavy equipment experience and/or previous experience with trucks and commodities preferred.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic understanding of computers and be proficient in Windows and Excel.
- Ability to work closely with upper management.
- Ability to conduct detailed written and oral instructions.
- Capability to climb ladders and work at heights.
- Willingness to work in various environmental conditions (airborne particles, weather, etc.)
- Strong aptitude in process analysis, decision-making and troubleshooting.
- Forklift experience required.
- Experience in loading/unloading bulk trucks, dry vans, flatbeds, and ocean containers.
- Strong team-building and coaching abilities.
- Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Successful candidates must be flexible with schedule and be willing to work overtime as needed, Monday through Friday and occasional Saturdays.
- Mechanical aptitude for preventive maintenance & repair of feed mill equipment.
