Lorain County Community College (LCCC) is hiring an Industrial Automation Laboratory Instructional Assistant (LIA). Reporting to the Industrial Automation degree coordinator, the twelve month LIA will be responsible for, but not limited to:

Lorain County Community College (LCCC) is hiring an Industrial Automation Laboratory Instructional Assistant (LIA). Reporting to the Industrial Automation degree coordinator, the twelve month LIA will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Assist with the operation and maintenance of labs, equipment, and materials for Industrial Automation degrees, covering robotics, PLCs, sensors, work cell interfacing, and industrial networking.
- Perform setup, operation, teardown, maintenance, and cleanup of lab equipment.
- Supervise students, ensuring safe and effective lab use, and assist with related theory and practical application.
- Issue and monitor lab equipment, support students during credit/non-credit courses, open labs, and events.
- Communicate with faculty and staff regarding lab activities and students.
- Install and support industrial software and learn lab equipment operation, programming and maintenance.
- Maintain equipment inventory, assist with ordering supplies, and keep the lab clean, organized, and secure.
- Conduct tours and complete special projects as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Industry certifications or an Associate degree (in progress) in Industrial Automation or similar field.
- Flexible schedule for day/evening classes, open lab, and events.
- Strong self-motivation, communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Proficient with computer software, Microsoft Office, and industrial equipment.
- Electrical, mechanical, and fluid power knowledge; ability to use hand tools safely.
- Experience with industrial robotics, PLCs/PACs, and automation equipment.
- Proficiency with FANUC Robotics, Allen Bradley PLC/PAC systems, PanelView HMIs and Studio 5000.
- Experience with workcell interfacing (wiring PLCs, Robots, sensors, and other equipment). and industrial equipment networking.
- Associate degree in Industrial Automation or similar field.
