What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanic Technician position at Lorain County Metropolitan Park District?
Description
Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled labor jobs in maintaining and improving Park District resources and facilities, maintains buildings, and sets up facilities for public functions, etc. Perform mainly routine tasks in maintenance and landscaping. Performs equipment repairs (i.e. mowers, vehicles, gators, tractors, etc). Previous knowledge of mowers, vehicles, gators, tractor engines, and equipment repair is required.
RATE OF PAY: $10.70 to $15 per hour, commensurate with the employee's experience.
Temporary employees can work work more than 6 months, and up to 28 hours per week. Annual break(s) in service must be a minimum of 2 weeks.
Requirements
- Cleans building (i.e. - sanitizes, sweeps, mops, etc.), structures (i.e - shelters, restrooms, etc.), and other park facilities.
- Performs routine landscaping tasks including but not limited to, mowing, pruning, weeding, mulching, watering, fertilizing, seeding, etc.
- Litter and trash pickup.
- Maintains facilities, and storage areas, empties trash, etc.
- Sets up facilities (i.e. chairs, tables, A/V equipment).
- Operate vehicles and equipment (i.e. - pickup trucks, tractors, mowers, gators, and other heavy equipment.
- Repair vehicles and equipment (i.e. - pulleys, radiators, sharpen mower blades, welding electrical repairs of equipment, etc.)
- Repairs building equipment as needed.
- Install and maintain split rail fencing, etc.
- Light lifting (up to 80 lbs).
- Staining and painting.
- Assists with purchases of supplies as authorized.
- Communicate with other staff, supervisors, and park visitors, both in writing and verbally.
- Participates in park safety programs and adheres to Park District policies and standards.
- Performs related duties as apparent or assigned.
- Able to work in all weather conditions.
Salary : $11 - $15
