A small, growing, and entrepreneurial law firm is looking to hire a litigation associate to focus on commercial and employment (75% plaintiff / 25% defendant) matters. Most of the work would be litigation, but there would also be non-litigation, including employment counseling and reviewing separation agreements, partnership and software agreements, and employee handbooks. The law firm, which has a family style vibe, is based in downtown Manhattan and will allow for significantly remote work. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience at a law firm or governmental organization (New York City Law Department or similar), be a good legal writer and researcher, and have excellent interpersonal and presentation skills. The associate will be given a lot of responsibility to manage cases and craft strategy. Base salary ranges from $150,000 to $170,000, plus a bonus. NY bar is required, and NJ bar is preferred. In addition to those coming directly from private law firms, candidates employed in federal, state, and city government attorney positions are encouraged to apply.
