Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to patients in various healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will have experience in diverse medical environments, including PICU, geriatrics, clinics, and hospitals. This role requires a commitment to delivering high-quality care while ensuring the comfort and dignity of patients.
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Monitor and report changes in patients' health status to nursing staff or healthcare providers.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, fostering a positive environment.
- Help with mobility and transportation within the facility, ensuring safety at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient areas and assist with basic housekeeping tasks.
- Support medical staff in various settings including outpatient clinics, inpatient units, emergency medicine departments, and operating rooms (OR).
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures while providing care in a Level I Trauma Center or similar facilities.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a related healthcare role is preferred.
- Familiarity with patient care practices in settings such as PICU, geriatrics, clinic environments, hospital medicine, emergency medicine, outpatient services, and inpatient care is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while also demonstrating independence when necessary.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by healthcare regulations.
