Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Applications Engineer to join our client’s team in the Greater Chicago Area. This is a full-time, on-site role responsible for analyzing customer requirements and developing advanced, large-scale automation systems to meet their manufacturing needs. This role is integral to the Sales team, providing technical support and innovative solutions to address client challenges. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with electro-mechanical systems and a passion for automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Sales Representatives to understand customer needs and propose automation solutions.
- Analyze customer requirements to develop innovative designs and concepts for automated systems.
- Create detailed technical proposals, including specifications, layouts, and cost estimates.
- Develop CAD models and drawings using AutoCAD or SolidWorks to support project designs.
- Evaluate manufacturing challenges and design solutions tailored to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity.
- Present technical solutions and project plans to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to ensure project feasibility and alignment with customer needs.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in automation systems.
- Provide post-sale technical support and guidance as needed.
