Principal Engineer – GIS & Pipeline Operations
Location: Hybrid (Mon-Thurs in Office)

Position Summary:
The Principal Engineer will lead and manage projects focused on implementing and optimizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) processes to support Transmission and Large Pipeline business units. This role requires close collaboration with various stakeholders, including engineering, IT, and operations teams, to ensure seamless integration of GIS solutions into pipeline and utility operations. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, proven project management experience, and a deep understanding of Utility or Pipeline Industry standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee GIS-related projects for large pipeline operations from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards.
- Collaborate with Transmission and Large Pipeline business units to assess data requirements and operational needs.
- Design, develop, and implement new GIS processes to enhance data integration and management.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (IT, engineering, operations) to streamline GIS adoption and ensure seamless data incorporation.
- Create detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders, identifying potential risks or necessary scope changes.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to ensure effective use of GIS tools by end-users.
- Stay updated on industry trends, GIS technologies, and pipeline operational best practices.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to GIS data management and pipeline operations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Licensing: Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
- Experience:
- Minimum 5-10 years in project management, engineering, or GIS-related roles within the Utility or Pipeline Industry.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Experience managing Transmission and Large Pipeline data and operations is highly desirable.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams.
