Temporary Tax Consultant
The Tax Consultant is responsible for the preparation and review of tax returns and estimates for an assignment of individual tax clients; advising the Tax Compliance Team members on area processes, including, but not limited to, filing tax returns, making tax payments, tracking returns and payments, and taking fees; and assisting Tax Compliance Team members with those processes. This position handles confidential information, while maintaining a high level of client contact. Integrity, discretion, and respect for confidential information are absolutely essential.
Responsibilities
Prepare and review tax returns and estimates for individual clients.
Advise the Tax Compliance Team members on Tax Compliance processes, including, but not limited to, filing tax returns, making tax payments, tracking returns and payments, and taking fees.
Assist Tax Compliance Team members on area processes for the April tax deadline.
Work closely with other Tax Team members to ensure the needs of the department are met.
Education, Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in business or accounting concentration.
Investment / Financial Services industry experience, with a strong foundation in back and middle office operations.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in individual tax and / or tax compliance environment.
Solid understanding of Investment Management concepts.
Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organization skills, combined with persistence and good problem-solving skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively.
Exercise judgment and use tact and discretion when handling complex and confidential matters, even in high stress situations.
Ability to work well in a team environment and develop strong relationships with both department members as well as others through the office, including Trustees and Senior Management.

Solid client service skills.
Be a self-starter who is able to organize and manage own workload in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting & Classification
This position will report to the Head of Tax. This is a hybrid or remote position. It may necessitate flexibility in hours, from time to time, with little or no advance notice.
