Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
- Draft, review, and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Manage all aspects of case development, including discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
- Represent clients in court hearings, arbitrations, and mediations.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal team members.
- Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution processes.
- Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedures.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the California State Bar.
- 4–8 years of litigation experience, with a preference for candidates who have been with no more than one or two firms.
- Strong legal research and writing skills.
- Proficiency in drafting legal documents and managing case files.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
Preferred Experience
- Background in complex commercial litigation, product liability, or insurance defense.
- Experience with electronic discovery and document management systems.
- Familiarity with legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
