Located in Northern New Mexico, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in strategic science on behalf of national security. Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. - Discovering materials and exploring their properties and developing new characterization tools and practical applications of materials;
- Deliver core materials science, technology, and hardware essential to ensure weapons materials performance;
- Analysis of data acquired using the ChemCam instrument currently deployed on the NASA Curiosity rover;
- Modeling neutron scattering and yield within systems involving extreme temperature and pressure conditions;
- Design, execute, and analyze experiments that challenge, improve, and validate our understanding of fundamental physics;
- Manufacturing science related to nuclear weapons, nuclear fuels, ferrous alloys, refractory metals, and a variety of non-metallic materials.
