The NHMLAC is seeking a Full-time Guest & Member Associate I for our Guest Relations department. The Guest & Member Associate I ensures that all Guests have a great visit with messaging tailored towards what activities, exhibitions, membership opportunities, and presentations the Guest expresses interest in or is curious about. Ensures the organization’s protocols are followed at all times, including but not limited to timekeeping, ticketing, cash handling, security, and safety. Provides revenue support through the sale of memberships, general admission, special exhibitions, parking, programs, etc. Provides all other aspects of a customer service role.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Greets and welcomes all Guests to the Museum with a positive, enthusiastic, and professional attitude and appearance at all times.
Processes admission, parking, special exhibition, and membership fees of cash, check, or credit cards. Processes these transactions correctly and efficiently.
Responds to Guest questions and concerns by explaining programs, exhibitions, events for the Museum and surrounding facilities, or directs them to appropriate Museum staff.
Helps direct Guests and control capacity of spaces, ensuring safety, current spacing regulations, and Fire Marshall limits are being observed.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor, Guest Relations dependent on organizational needs.
This position has the following requirements:
High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred. In some circumstances, students actively in school with valid work permits will be considered.
At least 2 years of Customer Service experience.
Must be able to work shifts at both the Natural History Museum and La Brea Tar Pits and Museum
Must be able to work at least 4 days and must be available to work a variable schedule as needed by the institution’s regular and special program operations, including Fridays, weekends and holidays.
Use a computer and ticketing system to process transactions
Maintain safety of self, staff, and guests by keeping work area sanitary and utilizing proper equipment such as face coverings, gloves or any other gear as required
