The Willits Unified School District serves 1500 students in grades TK–12 from the City of Willits and surrounding areas. Committed to the small campus environment our district is composed of four traditional schools: Brookside Elementary (TK-2), Blosser Lane Elementary (3-5), Baechtel Grove Middle School (6-8), and Willits High School (9-12). In addition to our traditional schools our alternative programs offer students a variety of choices within our district’s governance: Sherwood Elementary (K-5) and Sanhedrin Alternative High School (9-12). Job Summary

Under the guidance of the Agriculture Teachers, the individual carries out daily tasks based on the needs of the farm, faculty, and students; performs additional duties as assigned; and supports student engagement in agricultural learning activities under the teacher's direction. Oversees farm operations during summer hours when not assisting the Agriscience teacher.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young adults • Previous experience in agriculture Minimum Qualification Education (one of the following) • High School Diploma or equivalent • AA degree or 48 or more college units are preferred

BENEFITS Employees are provided with an insurance plan, which includes health, vision, and dental insurance for employee, spouse, and dependents, at a shared cost. Participation in this plan is mandatory for employees working 35 plus hours a week. Employee will be a member of the Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS) to which both the employee and WUSD contribute. Employee may elect to be a member of the California School Employees Association Union. 8 hours p/day, 5 days p/week, 180 days during the school year, 4 hours p/day, 5 days p/week in the summer to start ASAP, pending successful fingerprint clearance, and submission of a recent Tuberculosis test as required by the California Education Code.
