Job Summary

The Academic Intervention Coordinator is a full-time, remote position reporting directly to the Principal and playing a key leadership role in driving academic success through targeted intervention strategies. This role involves managing the full scope of intervention programs—from planning to execution and assessment—while collaborating closely with the school’s leadership team, teachers, and the Special Education Department. Responsibilities include analyzing student data, conducting teacher observations, supporting the MTSS and SST processes, facilitating professional development, and ensuring effective instructional practices across the school.

Requirements / Qualifications


• California residency required • Current California Credentialing in appropriate content area • Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards • Preferred at least two years’ experience teaching • High quality written and verbal communication skills • High digital proficiency in Microsoft applications, Google Workspace, and Work OS platforms • Ability to work well under pressure • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks to meet deadlines consistently • Understanding of and ability to manage confidential information • Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks • Experience working in a multi-cultural setting preferred • Ability to work with a diverse and distributed student body and peer group • Experience in coaching teachers to improve their instructional planning, instructional practice, and classroom culture • Excellent results in increasing student achievement academically and social-emotionally • A passion for teaching and genuine care for children • High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment based on frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring

Comments and Other Information

Responsibilities: • Manage all aspects of assigned intervention programs through stages of planning, implementation, and assessment to ensure school is accomplishing their goals and objectives. • Work with the Testing Coordinator to coordinate, manage, and implement NWEA diagnostic testing • Analyze and share data related to student academic performance in collaboration with the administrative team • Perform frequent teacher classroom observations, provide feedback, and implement feedback for teacher evaluations with the Principal • Collaborate with the Special Education Department as part of the SST process • Attend PLC meetings • Meet with General Education teachers regularly to monitor MTSS process and progress • Facilitate Academic Intervention team • Supervise teachers on student engagement, best practices, and family communication. • Facilitate the integration of intervention strategies of delivery for teachers • Develop and implement professional development for teachers and admin. in collaboration with the Principal • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students and colleagues. • Audit current procedures and identify opportunities to streamline and improve • Contribute to a positive climate and culture by exhibiting high professional standards • Understand, accept, abide by, and implement the school’s philosophy and mission statement in all school activities • Other duties as assigned
