What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Intelligence Architect position at Los Angeles County Office Of Education?
Under general direction, researches, designs, implements, and maintains data architecture for systems and tools that manage various data assets used to support and improve business processes, leverage data, and increase efficiency; and provides strategic oversight and integration across the organization’s data management and analytics framework.
The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following
Knowledge:
Advanced data warehousing concepts, methodologies, and best practices
Business intelligence tools and platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, QlikView)
Data modeling techniques and dimensional modeling
SQL and other relevant query languages
Big data technologies
Data visualization tools and techniques
Cloud computing platforms for BI
Microsoft Power BI for data visualization and reporting
Microsoft Fabric, including its components for data integration, storage, and analysis
Oracle databases, including data extraction and integration techniques
Azure Synapse Analytics and its integration with Microsoft Fabric
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) for advanced calculations in Power BI
Data integration and ETL processes
Data privacy regulations and best practices (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)

Education: A bachelor’s degree with major coursework in computer science, data science, management information system, business administration or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Experience: Five years of experience designing and implementing data warehouse architecture, including the use of relational databases, cloud platforms, and data modeling and visualization tools.
Additional Requirements: A valid California driver’s license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to obtain transportation between job sites may be required. Experience with AI/ML applications in BI is preferred.
Salary : $117,060 - $145,020
