Job Summary

THE POSITION: The Coordinator III, Community Schools Initiative, shall provide technical assistance, specialized, consultative, planning and program evaluation support to schools, LEAs, and staff in the LACOE Community Schools Initiative division, which aims to disrupt inequities and break the cycle of poverty by leveraging assets to transform schools into community hubs. The Coordinator III will be responsible to plan, organize, develop, recommend, and evaluate processes and procedures within the division. This position will serve as a resource to staff, schools and school districts. The Coordinator III will develop and conduct professional development focused on building a comprehensive community school framework. Critical to this position is the ability to collaborate with multiple partners and agencies to ensure coherent and coordinated implementation of the Community Schools framework at the school and district level. This position requires knowledge and experience to increase cross-system collaboration to support the implementation of schoolbased educational supports in the areas of the four pillars/themes of Community Schools, including integrated student supports, expanded and enriched learning opportunities, parent and family engagement, and collaborative leadership. Under administrative direction, the Coordinator III makes decisions of critical consequence, impacting daily operations of a school district/charter organization, and the implementation and revision of established policies and procedures; may provide technical and functional supervision of professional, technical, and clerical personnel; meets most frequently with county agencies, district/charter personnel, as well as internal staff, for the purpose of planning and directing activities, and implementing decisions. Administrative direction is provided by the Director III, Community Schools Initiative.

Requirements / Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Experience: Comprehensive, directly related, and progressive experience, including three years as a teacher or support service provider and three years of educational administrative experience. Administrative experience may include school, district and/or county-level administrative positions in K-12 education. Education: A Master’s degree in education, social work, counseling or a closely related field from an institution of higher learning accredited by one of the six regional accreditation associations as recognized by the Council on Postsecondary Accreditation. LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE (Must attach a detailed certification/credential with document number to application. Internal and external applicants, please provide a copy of each credential document as it appears on the California Teaching Credential website with the document number on it.): • Possess and maintain a valid Administrative Services Credential. • Possess and maintain valid K-12 Teaching Credential or Pupil Personnel Services Credential.

The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) may provide Remote Work (RW) or an Alternative Work Schedule (AWS) at the administrator's complete discretion.
