Job Summary
The Dean of Students is an educational leader and administrator responsible for fostering a positive and inclusive school culture, ensuring student success, and supporting the overall mission and goals of the school. Actively lowering suspension rates, with a focus on supporting socio-economically disadvantaged, homeless, and students with disabilities, through improved school engagement, and targeted interventions and supports. The Dean oversees student discipline, attendance, and behavior management while collaborating with teachers, staff, and families to create a safe and supportive learning environment. Additionally, the Dean plays a key role in guiding student development, promoting academic achievement, and implementing school policies and programs that enhance the educational experience for all students. This position requires strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills to address challenges, support staff, and maintain high standards for student conduct and engagement.
Requirements / Qualifications
Administrative Services credential. A secondary teaching credential and advanced degree in an educationally related field are preferred. Five years experience in high school administration also preferred.
