Consisting of 10 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, 3 high schools as well as pre-k, alternative, and adult programs, we proudly serve the communities of Marina, Seaside, and Monterey. Requirements / Qualifications
Required:
-Demonstrated knowledge and teaching experience with adult students with a focus on curriculum planning, instruction, assessment and evaluation
Preferred:
-Teaching experience in ESL
-Masters Degree in TESOL, Linguistics or related field
-TESOL certification
-Multilingual

ESL teacher for evening sessions, 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm Monday through Thursday.
The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District is looking for a progressive, talented and passionate individual to teach English as a Second Language at Monterey Adult School. Monterey Adult School serves adult immigrants seeking to build literacy and civic skills that unlock doors to opportunity.
Our ideal candidate is someone who is focused on equitable educational opportunities, positive and flexible, and seeks to be involved in shifting the life trajectories of our students. The candidate must be able to work the evening shift M-Th. We are interested in candidates who are passionate about our mission and vision and who are looking for long term employment.
The part time schedule envisioned for the school year involves teaching English embedded into Civics themes. We are hoping to employ someone who understands the importance of building positive relationships with students, who has a proven track record of working with students with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and is innovative and reflective about their teaching practice. We offer a flexible work schedule, support for our teachers, and the ability to focus on instructional pedagogy and relationships over grading and discipline.
