Job Summary
Position Summary A Program Leader I is responsible for managing a classroom of 20 students, ensuring the safety of students, and facilitating daily implementation of each program. Programs may include but are not limited to sports, STEM, Coding, nutrition, outdoor education, and creative arts.
Requirements / Qualifications
Primary Role and Responsibilities Support student mastery of new skills through project-based learning Maintain a culture of safety and well-being with students in both the classroom and outdoor settings Establish clear, consistent expectations for behavior and positive discipline Ensure that every student feels known, accepted, valued, and respected Build and maintain a high level of trust through effective communication methods Model and promote the mission and values of ProYouth through appropriate appearance, words, and actions Monitors individual and/or groups of students in a variety of settings to enforce school and ProYouth expectations and procedures regarding student behavior and participation, and/or provide a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment Work in conjunction with the Site Director and all program staff to ensure that activities are exciting and relevant to youth, as well as well-thought-out and organized Address issues, concerns, and challenges to the immediate supervisor Build and maintain a high level of trust through effective communication methods Model and promote the mission and values of ProYouth through appropriate appearance, words, and actions Build positive and professional relationships with coworkers, supervisors, ProYouth executive and administrative staff Participate as a positive team member to enhance and share knowledge and skills for the delivery of best practices Exhibit professional behavior that reflects positively on ProYouth’s policies and practices Communicate with transparency Support site staff to work effectively and efficiently while building trust and partnerships Complete responsibilities accurately and on time Hold everyone, including yourself, accountable for their actions Perform related duties as assigned, within your scope of practice and training
Education and Experience A bachelor’s Degree is preferred High School diploma or equivalent AND 48 completed College Units OR NCLB Paraprofessional Certification A minimum of two years’ experience working with youth is desirable
