Description
Under moderate supervision, receives, stores, monitors, orders, issues, and maintains computerized inventory records of vehicle parts and other materials.
Examples of Duties
- Operates a computer to identify, retrieve, enter, update and / or verify stock availability and status; ensures that items are charged to the appropriate cost center
- Issues parts and other materials upon request
- Receives materials from outside vendors
- Checks orders received from various Metro departments, divisions, and vendors and ensures placement in proper storage bin
- Conducts storeroom inventory, including performing cycle counting to maintain adequate supply levels; orders supplies
- Operates forklift to move, load, and unload materials
- Responds to inquiries from various Metro locations regarding status of requested materials and parts
- Modifies crates, pallets, or boxes to protect and safeguard goods during storage or distribution
- Cleans and maintains work area
- Picks up and delivers supplies to various locations when necessary using a Metro vehicle
- Adjusts pallet racking, shelving, or cabinets to maximize storage capacity
