ADMINISTRATOR OF OPERATIONS
49G (School Support Administrator, 0515)

The Administrator of Operations reports to the Chief of School Operations and serves as the key leader to ensure schools receive exemplary support and resources in school operations. This leader works collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure that each school campus has a safe and orderly environment that is conducive to learning and all students and staff are safe and supported.
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides leadership and direction for planning, evaluation, improvement, and implementation in the following areas: school safety, child abuse reporting and procedures, positive discipline foundation policy, suspension/opportunity transfer appeals, athletics, threat assessment, emergency preparedness and response, conflict management and resolution, crisis team implementation, incident and crime reporting, sexual harassment reporting and procedures, human relations issues, transportation issues, budget and personnel related issues, and uniform complaint procedures
- Administers and ensures the completion of programs, requirements, and activities in compliance with state and federal mandates such as Child Abuse Awareness Training, Safe School Plans, and Administrator Certification
- Administers and oversees the implementation of Board policies and General Superintendent’s directives and ensures compliance with all applicable policies and directives
- Directs resources to support schools for the improvement of safety and school operations, using multiple sources of data
- Manages the performance of staff through communication of performance expectations, effective observations, documented actionable feedback, and assistance and guidance when necessary
- Drives effective communication with the community, parents, schools, and central office staff regarding emergency and safety initiatives
- Performs other duties as assigned
SALARY:
49G, (School Support Administrator, 0515) – A Basis ($162,967 – $202,934) – 261 paid days
NOTE: This position will close on June 30, 2026.
- In the case of an annualized employee who is changing basis during the year, this change may result in an annualized “settlement” (i.e., the process by which the District resolves an under or overpayment).
- For employees who change basis during the school year, this basis change may prevent them from earning a full year of service credit.
- Selected individual may be subject to displacement due to norm allocation and seniority-based RIF provisions or due to budget limitations.
- This position is deemed certificated under Education Code Section 44065, but may not qualify for "creditable service" under Education Code Section 22119.5 for CalSTRS benefits. However, if the candidate chosen for the position is already a CalSTRS member, he/she can fill out an election form to remain in CalSTRS and thereby obtain CalSTRS credit for this service.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- At least eight (8) years of successful, full-time public school service in a certificated position(s), with no fewer than three (3) years of which must have been as a school principal
- A valid California Administrative Services Credential (Out-of-state applicants must qualify for and obtain a California credential prior to selection approval.)
- An earned master’s degree or advanced degree of at least equivalent standard conferred by a regionally-accredited college or university
- Completion of required Multicultural Education and Master Plan coursework*

Employees who have been issued a below standard Performance Evaluation, or Notice of Unsatisfactory Act(s) and/or Suspension shall be ineligible for application to any promotion process for one calendar year following the issuance of such a Notice
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience effectively operating a school or large organizational structure
- Proven leadership and management skills in resolving crisis, complaints, and controversial situations
- Extensive knowledge of District policies and procedures, organizational structure and functions, the California Education Code, and school operations and safety regulations
- Knowledge of principles and practices of administration, supervision and professional development.
- Knowledge of budget preparation and control.
- Excellent interpersonal skills in effectively working and communicating with principals, school staff, students, and parents specially in matters related to school operations
- Ability to build consensus with and develop collegial relationships with staff and stakeholders
- Excellent skills in written communication and public presentation
