What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Bus Transportation Manager position at Los Olivos School District?
Los Olivos School District is seeking a skilled School Bus Driver to join our team. As a vital member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school sites, while adhering to all traffic laws and safe driving practices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Transport Students Safely: Operate a variety of school buses to transport students to and from school sites, according to established routes and time schedules.
- Maintain Discipline: Maintain discipline, order, and safety on the bus at all times.
- Conduct Vehicle Inspections: Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure the assigned bus is in a safe operating condition.
- Prepare Documentation: Prepare and maintain records and documentation related to bus operations, bus maintenance, and student behavior.
Qualifications:
- Licenses and Certifications: Must have a valid Class A or B license with a passenger endorsement issued by the DMV, as well as a School Bus Certificate issued by the DMV.
- Medical Requirements: Must possess a DL-51 Medical Card, First Aid Certificate, Tuberculosis Clearance, and Department of Justice and FBI Fingerprint Response.
- Knowledge and Abilities: Possess knowledge of safe school bus driving practices and techniques, provisions of the Motor Vehicle Code, and district policies and procedures. Ability to drive a Type-2 or Type-1 passenger school bus safely and efficiently, maintain appropriate student behavior, follow oral and written directions, and read maps.
