As a MEP Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing and integrating all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems during a critical construction project at a high-tech data center. You'll act as the main point of coordination between subcontractors, client teams, commissioning agents, and 3rd parties—ensuring systems are conflict-free and align with project timelines. This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in fast-paced, complex environments and have experience in mission critical, semiconductor, or data center projects.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all MEP activities across subcontractors and ensure seamless integration with design and construction teams.
- Collaborate with the BIM Manager to identify and resolve system clashes before installation.
- Support field execution by providing schedule updates, tracking milestones, and reporting progress to stakeholders.
- Liaise between client engineering teams, construction, commissioning agents (CxA), and specialty contractors.
- Participate in site walks, meetings, and coordination reviews to ensure MEP system readiness.
- Ensure MEP scope is executed safely, on time, and to spec.
- Drive communication and issue resolution across all phases of MEP construction.
- Assist with the delivery of MEP systems for commissioning and turnover.
- Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.
Skills Required:
- Serve as the point of contact for all MEP scope coordination on-site.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, design engineers, BIM teams, and commissioning agents (CxA) to ensure seamless system integration.
- Support clash detection and resolution through 3D model reviews with the BIM Manager.
- Provide project updates and schedule coordination to the construction management team and client stakeholders.
- Facilitate regular MEP coordination meetings and site walks.
- Track installation progress and assist in preparing for system commissioning and turnover.
- Promote site safety and compliance with OSHA 30 and project standards.
- Communicate effectively across multiple teams to manage priorities and resolve field issues quickly.
Education / Licenses / Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Construction Engineering preferred.
- Experience with BIM tools (Navisworks, Revit), Procore, or construction coordination platforms.
- Understanding of process utility systems and commissioning practices.
- Certifications such as LEED AP, PMP, or CMIT are a plus.
- Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable.
