What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Lifeguard position at Loudoun County Government?
We are currently hiring for the following location(s):
• Ashburn Recreation and Community Center, Ashburn, VA
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assist in the recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of Lifeguard personnel, collaborate with the Aquatics Supervisor, and guide part-time staff in their daily responsibilities.
• Maintain thorough records of certifications for aquatics personnel and the requisite documentation for the aquatic facility. This involves executing clerical functions, utilizing scheduling software, and facilitating the orientation process for newly hired staff in the aquatics team.
• Helps distressed individuals by utilizing appropriate rescue techniques and equipment; alerts emergency medical personnel in cases of significant injury; offers emergency care and treatment as necessary.
• Offers customer service, modifies the pool configuration for activities and events, and provides support for special events.
• Performs daily custodial and maintenance duties to ensure a safe, clean aquatic facility.
• Ensure compliance with pool rules and regulations by overseeing the use of aquatic facilities and equipment, thereby safeguarding the well-being of visitors and participants and upholding relevant safety policies and practices.
• It is possible that other essential duties related to the specific role and department may be performed as required.
*The work schedule is subject to variation based on operational hours and will encompass weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation or Leisure Services or a related field.
• Prefer 2-year supervisory experience.
• Lifeguarding Instructor, AED, and Supplemental Oxygen preferred.
• Water Safety Instructor
• Certified Pool Operator /Certified PTHA CPO/AFO
Salary : $36,845 - $60,794
