JOB SUMMARY
Provides physical comfort measures for patients, performs designated technical tasks, communicates information pertinent to patient comfort and safety, participates in the admission, discharge and transfer process, and documents specified information. Provides all services in accordance with established hospital/departmental policies and procedures.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must have CNA, CNA with geriatric experience preferred
2. CPR certification
3. Strong interpersonal skills necessary
4. Strong written and oral communication skills
5. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Pay Rate $20 - $24 per hour
JOB DUTIES
1. Demonstrates the Resilience Healthcare Customer Service Values, which are key in providing quality service to patients and customers.
2. Performs and documents direct patient care tasks such as assistance with ADL’s, vital signs, weights, heights, phlebotomy, routine urine and stool specimen collection.
3. Provides a safe, clean environment that protects patient’s rights and includes completion of levels of observation and checks of patients/surroundings and records on flow sheets. Guides and assists patients in adhering to unit policies and procedures.
4. Maintains a structured, therapeutic environment which addresses the age, developmental and psychological needs of the patients and includes individual time with assigned patients and conducting psycho-educational and other group activities per the unit schedule.
5. Participates in the development and ongoing review of the patient’s treatment plan and progress toward goals. Knowledgeable about assigned patient’s treatment goals and intervenes as identified in the treatment plan.
6. Assists in patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures.
7. Utilizing least restrictive interventions, assists in the management of aggressive or destructive patient behavior according to policy and procedures up to and including physical intervention and/or application of restraint.
8. Records patient observations, interventions, and outcome in progress notes and flow sheets.
9. Participates in unit and department activities related to improving patient care, such as performance improvement initiatives, staff meetings, in-services/training, program planning and committee work.
10. Completes assistive duties such as answering phones, washing patient’s clothes, providing restricted articles, accompanying patients for off unit tests, and running errands.
