What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adult Day Training Aide position at Louise Graham Regeneration Center?
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Assists in the delivery of educational, social and work-related activities for adults with disabilities in the Adult Day Training Program.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for monitoring clients in the morning and afternoon during arrival and departure.
- Supervise clients assigned at all times including at off-site locations.
- Ensure that all essential tools are available for clients to participate in an activity or to perform a job.
- As directed, provide group and individual instruction in areas such as life and work skills, interpersonal relations, personal care, and rights and responsibilities.
- Carry out any behavior management program as assigned per client or at the center.
- As requested, drive 15 passenger van with clients for local trips.
- Accurately complete in a timely manner all assigned data collection, case notes, and other documentation or paperwork
- Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with agency and funder requirements
- Meet all one-time and on-going training requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires frequent and moderately complex, and often highly confidential communications with agency personnel and occasionally with outside sources. Supervision is moderate with some independent decision-making required. Problems to be solved have a moderate degree of complexity.
Within 30 days of employment must obtain the following training: Agency for Persons With Disabilities Direct Care Core Competencies, Zero Tolerance, CPR, HIV/AIDS and Infection Control.
Must be at least 18 years of age and possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent; experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is preferred. Must pass Level 2 background screenings, to include pre-employment drug testing, criminal background checks (local, state, federal), and as requested DOT physical exam. Valid Florida driver's license with acceptable driving history (license requirement may be waived on a case by case basis).
