What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Scheduler position at Louisiana Bridge Builders?
POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY
The Construction Scheduler is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by technical planning of the project for the purpose of finding out and planning the construction procedures and means of production necessary, the external ambiguities and conditioning factors, the most appropriate order for performance of the work and the partial deadlines and final deadline for completion of the work.
LOCATION
This position is based in Lake Charles, LA.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor the project planning, resource analysis, functional integration and forecast and trend analysis.
- Reviews schedules and to prepare reports and presentations to communicate project status and findings of analysis.
- Monitors progress during construction and re-programming if required.
- Integrates information from the designers, construction, subcontractors, and suppliers to create a master schedule.
- Coordinates between areas and departments, in order to elaborate a realistic schedule.
- Preparation of detailed construction programs in Primavera P6. Preparation of the narrative. Presentation/dissemination of planning/programming philosophy
- Production of Cost Forecast and operation Earned Value Management process.
- Monitors continuously all project problems, take advantage of conversion opportunities if any and recommend solutions for scrapping and potential.
- Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.
- Monitor construction claims and change orders related to scheduling impacts.
- Preparation of Extension of Time (EOT).
- Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
At a minimum, the Construction Scheduler must have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent field of study, along with 6 years of proven experience in project scheduling and maintaining/updating Primavera (P6) schedules and performance measurement systems within heavy civil construction projects and OR high school diploma, or equivalent, along with 10 years of proven experience in project scheduling and maintaining/updating Primavera (P6) schedules and performance measurement systems within heavy civil construction projects.
