This Administrative Program Specialist A position is in our Executive Division. This is a professional administrative position that serves as special assistant to the Executive Staff Officer and the Executive Director for the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners (LSBME), a statewide regulatory board with the Department of Health and Hospitals, with the overall responsibility for licensing over 32,000 licensees within each of the categories and additional subcategories of health professionals licensed by and regulated under its jurisdiction. This position is responsible for highly confidential matters otherwise exempt from public disclosure.

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Three years of experience in administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree.
Experience Substitution
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Examples of Work
Analyzes and maintains control of highly confidential records on incoming correspondence, executive matters, and action items; and has developed a system to follow-up with written Standard Operating Procedures.
Drafts and prepares responses to correspondence Public Records Requests and other information requests at the direction of the Confidential Assistant.
Composes responses to memoranda or correspondence providing general information and attaches appropriate documents.
Manages Executive Director Files, to include general correspondence, employee, audit, rulings, and advisory opinions along with other correspondence and miscellaneous matters.
Prepares routine executive correspondence for dissemination regarding routine matters.
Assists Executive Director Staff Officer in arranging for travel accommodations and matters involving scheduling.
Attends and participates in monthly board meetings and scheduled administrative hearings.
