About this positio
n: The function of this position is to serve as a statewide expert in the administration, management, and delivery of Bridge Preservation Program (PRBR) projects. This position is responsible for the management and delivery of PRBR projects and ancillary activities that support their development. These ancillary activities may include but are not limited to functional/ project supervision over other engineers and technicians, consultant contract development and administration, and technical bridge design or review. oject Management Specialist The function of this position is to serve as a statewide expert in the administration, management, and delivery of Bridge Preservation Program (PRBR) projects. This position is responsible for the management and delivery of PRBR projects and ancillary activities that support their development. These ancillary activities may include but are not limited to functional/ project supervision over other engineers and technicians, consultant contract development and administration, and techni
cal bridge design or review.
The PRBR is the largest program in the Department, with an annual construction target of approximately $200 million and a total program value in excess of $2 billion; costs for individual projects routinely exceed $10 million, with several having costs in excess of $50 million. Delivery of these projects is critical to the Department's ability to capture an estimated $150 milli
on in annual federal funding.
The PRBR includes some the most technical and complex projects in the Department. Projects routinely involve every aspect of project delivery and require direct communication and coordination with most every Section in the Depa1tment, multiple local, state, and federal agencies, and other permitting entities including, but not limited to: City and Parish Governments, Levee Boards and Districts, LA DEQ, LA DNR, USACE, USCG, USFWS, FAA, Utility Companies, and Rail Roads. Furthermore, functional knowledge and advanced understanding of all Project Delivery related Department processes is required. These processes include, b are not limited to: Transportation Planning; Traffic Engineering; Environmental Review; Permitting; Topographic and Property Surveying; Hydraulic, Road, Bridge, Geotechnical, etc. Engineering Design; Preliminary and Final Plan Development; Utility Relocations, Real Estate Acquisitions, State-Entity Agreements, Consultant Contract Procurement and Administration, Budgetary and Financial Systems (LaGov), Construction Contract Documents, an

75% Project Management: Performs DOTD project management for some of the most technical and complex projects in the DOTD. Serves as the DOTD project manager for an estimated 25% of all PRBR projects (typically in excess of 50 projects). Ensures that all assigned projects are completed within scope, schedule, and budget requirements. Utilizes DOTD project management manuals and software to ensure project delivery status is curr
- ent and is accurately reported.
