What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host/Hostess position at Louisiana Restaurant Group?
Tchefuncte's is seeking a warm, friendly, outgoing, and enthusiastic host/hostess for our restaurant. In this position, you will be the first point of contact for guests. Your primary responsibilities will include creating a welcoming atmosphere and managing the flow of guests to ensure a positive dining experience.
Your role will involve greeting guests, assigning tables, handling reservations, and addressing any guest inquiries or concerns. You are expected to engage with guests and recognize VIPs and regular patrons.
Job Duties:
- Greeting guests as they enter and putting them on a waiting list as necessary.
- Manage OpenTable before and during the shift to maximize guests that can dine with us
- Seating guests at tables, providing menus, and black linen (where needed), and answering initial questions
- Assigning guests to tables they prefer, while keeping table rotation in mind so that servers receive the correct number of customers.
- Engaging with guests to ensure their meal and experience is up to Tchefuncte’s standards.
- Answering phone calls, taking reservations, and answering questions.
- Knowledge of the menu and services offered.
- Assisting other positions in the restaurant as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to provide top-notch customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude and great teamwork when under pressure with all restaurant staff & guests.
- Willing to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification if/when needed.
- Able to work in a standing position for long periods.
