SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Executive Administrative Assistant works with members of the LSBA’s minority population to further the creation and promotion of diversity-oriented events, minority and protected class inclusion programs, educational workshops and Continuing Legal Education seminars.
Assists with efforts to achieve equal opportunity in the legal profession for women, racial and ethnic minorities, members from historically underrepresented geographic areas, lawyers with disabilities, and other historically underrepresented groups in the LSBA.
SOME TRAVEL REQUIRED
DUTIES:
Under the direction of the Director of Member Outreach and Diversity assists with duties that further various aspects of the operation of the department.
Under the direction of the Director of Member Outreach and Diversity assist the Director of Member Outreach and Diversity through administrative duties, with various aspects of the operation of the LSBA in furtherance of organizational diversity goals, objectives, and strategies that produce best practices and help to promote diversity and inclusiveness.
Administrative responsibilities include providing staff support as needed for diversity and outreach programs and initiatives by sending meeting notices, preparing correspondence, preparing handbooks, preparing name badges, coordinating bulk mailings, fielding R.S.V.P. calls for meetings and programs, organizing LSBA calendars, coordinating travel, maintaining general files of the LSBA, handling routine Executive Department correspondence, and performing other duties as requested.
Assist with proofreading and drafting articles and information items concerning diversity and inclusion related programs.
Assist with intranet management by monitoring and updating diversity and outreach information on the LSBA website.
Assist with conducting internet research regarding diversity and outreach issues and initiatives.
Assist with planning diversity and inclusion related professional programs and handling all aspects of management of online continuing legal education programs.
Assist with duties related to activities of LSBA committees and subcommittees such as sending meeting notices, preparing agendas and meeting minutes.
Assist with volunteer opinion surveys and member satisfaction surveys and prepares for Director of Member Outreach and Diversity.
Assist with special projects as directed by the Director of Member Outreach and Diversity.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communication or other field which would provide a strong foundation for responsibilities of position. 3 - 5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of related training and relevant experience.
OTHER:
Some travel. Travel requires use of employee’s private automobile. Reimbursement is in accordance with Employer reimbursement policy.
