What are the responsibilities and job description for the Case Manager/ Assistant project coordinator position at Louison House?
This staff member will provide case management to residents in our permanent Supportive housing program, and Emergency Sheltering program and people coming for assistance for entry into these programs.
Many of the people we work with have experienced substance addiction, mental health issues and homelessness. Louison House, Inc. is a nonprofit agency, well known in the community and serving people struggling with homelessness or housing instability in Northern Berkshire and beyond.
The job main location will be North Adams, but there may be travel to Williamstown for our emergency sheltering and Pittsfield to work with residents in our supportive housing in Pittsfield. We are looking for someone with knowledge of Northern Berkshire and the Berkshires in general along with the ability to quickly learn and adapt in various settings.
This job requires previous experience in human services, a valid driver’s license and vehicle, strong math and computer skills, high knowledge for the Berkshire social services, comfort with people with addiction and mental health issues, and be a very dependable person. We are looking for someone who can work in a fast paced environment as a team player that can problem solve quickly with the clients, while paying attention to details and needs of the client.
People Skills needed: good communication skills, empathy for people in difficult or crisis situations, non-judgmental, and problem solving skills.
Computer skills needed: Word, Excel, and the knowledge of or the ability to learn data entry for a housing data system.
Summary
As a Case Manager/Assistant Project Coordinator, you will be instrumental in supporting individuals through social work and crisis intervention.
