- Coordinates the scheduling of facilities and logistical issues for meetings, projects and events.
- Plans, coordinates, and participates in library and community programs.
- Prepares and generates reports and statistical data.
- Coordinates collection, development, programming, and resource sharing activities.
- Reviews and evaluates resource materials, and recommends the acquisition of books, periodicals, audiovisual and other materials.
- Advises and assists patrons on the selection, organization and interpretation of library materials.
- Gives talks to community groups and schools, and directs tours of the library.
- Attends public meetings and community group meetings to provide information, answer questions, discuss citizens' complaints, concerns and issues, and to explain procedures and operations.
- Serves as a resource person to library staff.
- Develops and maintains relationships with community organizations, local businesses, neighborhood and school groups, and library support associations.
- Provides technical assistance and instruction, and answers questions regarding the use of the library, collection and services.
- Provides library services in a concentrated specialty including technology, immigrant services, college and career readiness, website development.
- Performs related work as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Library Science, Business or Public Administration or related discipline.
- One (1) year of social work, social service, community service, resource development, teaching or job training experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Must hold appropriate certification from the State of Kentucky (KRS 171.250) within 30 days of employment.
- Must work a varied schedule.
- Must provide one's own source of transportation.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.

- Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
