Summary Objective
The purpose of this position is to manage program development and implementation for their division(s)
within OSHN.
This class works under administrative supervision, developing and implementing programs within
organizational policies and reports major activities to executive level administrators through conferences and
reports.

Examples of Duties

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.

  • Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals.

  • Coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules.

  • Monitors status of work in progress and maintains standards.

  • Reviews project completion schedules and logistical issues and discusses with management timeframes, deadlines, and cost.

  • Inspects completed work assignments.

  • Assists in budget preparation and monitors and controls expenditures.

  • Answers questions and gives advice and direction as needed.

  • Provides support and mentorship to ensure goals are met and team members are engaged and motivated.

  • Fosters a culture of empowerment and ownership to resolve issues and improve operations.

  • Provides additional training and guidance to existing staff as well as developing an onboarding and training system for newly hired personnel.

  • Collaborates with internal divisions and LMG departments to gather input, address concerns, and foster positive relationships.

  • Collaborates with organizations and individuals outside of LMG to answer questions, connect them with resources, and foster positive relationships across the Louisville Metro area.

  • Identifies potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure successful outcomes.

  • Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates both continuous improvement procedures and reviews, and special projects meant to improve function and efficiency within the department.

  • Prepares regular progress reports, presentations, and other documentation for stakeholders and senior management.

  • Performs related work as assigned; completes special projects as directed by management.

Minimum Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Public Administration, Communication, Criminology, Criminal Justice, Education, Human Services, Public Health, Social Sciences, or related discipline.

  • Four (4) years of experience managing programs and staff, community outreach and development, program/project design and management, and/or administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.

  • Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
