Summary Objective

The purpose of this position is to plan and coordinate programs, operations, and activities concerning real property, including acquisition, disposition, demolition, and/or leasing. Researches real property issues.
This class works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.

Examples of Duties

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.

  • Plans, develops, coordinates and implements multiple programs, policies and procedures related to real property including acquisition, disposition, demolition and/or leasing to achieve objectives of Department.
  • Collects statistical data and prepares reports on demolition, foreclosure, acquisition, and/or leasing-related activities, issues and operations.
  • Conducts research to locate property owners to pursue acquisition, foreclosure, demolition, and/or leasing.
  • Represents the department to governmental agencies, professionals, and the public to provide information and answer questions.
  • Accesses reference materials, queries records and files to update database and respond to inquiries for information.
  • Creates and/or manages databases to track information on real estate-related projects, operations and activities and recommends solutions to problems.
  • Prepares and submits correspondence, maintains records and files, and submits reports on progress or completion of real estate-related projects.
  • Monitors program expenditures and associated operating or project budget allocations.
  • Develops and disseminates information and materials regarding programs and procedures related to demolition, leasing, foreclosure, acquisition, and/or disposition.
  • Communicates with community stakeholder groups and community members about real estate programs and projects and other relevant topics.
  • Maintains records and files.
  • Completes special projects.
  • Performs related work as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Public Administration, Real Estate Law, Urban Planning or related discipline.
  • Two (2) years of project planning, problem solving, research, statistics, or analytical experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.

  • Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.

Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.
