Responsible for cultivating and developing relationships with key stakeholder groups, construction contractors, engineering consultants, and goods & services vendors for communicating MSD’s key message on Community Benefits (CB). Conducts outreach with potential Firms and community stakeholders on the CB program, which provides financial contributions, volunteer hours, and/or in-kind services to non-profit organizations in the local community committed to workforce and economic development. Develops, implements and trains on the various components of the community benefits program to all internal and external stakeholders. Tracks, manages, and monitors Firm commitments. Performs Program fiduciary oversight. Monitors and evaluates contracts, subcontracts, invoices, and other documentation for compliance and noncompliance with the Firm’s community benefits program. Monitors the implementation of the program and assesses progress to determine recommended program changes.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Administers the day-to-day activities related to the contracting of and commitments made by Firms awarded contracts by MSD to provide financial contributions, volunteer hours, and/or in-kind services to non-profit organizations or schools in the local community. Reviews bid documents for Community Benefits inclusion and compliance. Prepares status reports, summaries, graphics and presentations on contractor/consultant performance, program issues and opportunities for community benefit inclusion using various software applications. Serves as the point of contact for any questions related to Community Benefits. Tracks, manages, and monitors Firm commitments. Performs Program fiduciary oversight. Monitors and evaluates contracts, subcontracts, invoices, and other documentation for compliance and noncompliance with the organization’s community benefits program. Monitors contractor performance, progress, compliance, and results. Maintains all records in compliance with the organization’s record retention program. Prepares internal and external program material. Conducts ongoing outreach to potential contractors, consultants, goods & service vendors, community stakeholders, and MSD management on advancing MSD’s agenda and strategy on being a good neighbor to those impacted by its activities in the community. Manages relationships with vendors, non-profits, and schools. Attends pre-bid meetings to ensure program elements are clear for maximum competition. Prepares reports, memos, presentations, and technical documents to ensure transparency. Supports the team with administrative responsibilities related to contractor compliance and implementation strategies. Assists in policy development. Supports and provides outreach assistance on MSDJobLink. Assists in providing training to contractors, workforce development agencies, and jobseekers on utilizing the MSDJobLink portal. Maintains CB program databases and evaluation metrics. Provides training to internal and external stakeholders on the CB Program. Attends and represents MSD in public meetings and local and national conferences. Researches and pursues opportunities to spotlight MSD’s policy priorities (e.g. workforce development, community benefits, and education). Develops and delivers presentations on a local and national platform. Serves as Community Benefits Advisory Council liaison. Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Bachelor Degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field; three or more years of public outreach and/or policy development experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Public sector experience preferred. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must have safe work and driving habits.
