The mental health professional functions as the clinical lead of the multidisciplinary team per shift and provides treatment, rehabilitation, and support services. A critical attribute required of this position is exceptional interpersonal customer services consisting of an outgoing positive attitude, warm friendly joyful demeanor, and the utmost care and respect for our guests, patients, families, customers and colleagues.
Essential Functions
- Coordinate mental health services for patients on the crisis triage unit and leadership for multidisciplinary
- team.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, and provide ongoing monitoring of mental illness symptoms.
- Act as liaison and work closely with other agencies and family to coordinate the treatment process.
- Perform shift lead duties.
- Document clinical services.
- Provide ongoing assessment, problem solving, side-by-side services, skills training, supervision, and
- environmental adaptations to assist clients with activities of daily living.
- Act independently, with minimal supervision, utilizing time and resources effectively.

- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to all population and cultures
- served.
- Work effectively under pressure, prioritizing demands from multiple sources, professionally.
- Implement measures that provide for the safety of the unit, patients/families and peers.
EDUCATION
- Education: Master’s Degree in behavioral sciences required or granted a Mental Health Professional (MHP) exception from the Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery (DBHR) consistent with WAC 388-865-0265.
- Experience: Two (2) years’ experience in mental health service required.
- Certification: Must have or apply for a Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor within seven (7) days of employment (RCW 18.19.210-May work as an agency affiliated counselor for up to sixty [60] days) or possess current Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA), Licensed Advanced Social Worker (LASW), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Social Worker Associate & Advanced (LSWAA) as defined by the Washington State Department of Health.
