The Surgical Services Support Aide is responsible for transporting all surgical patients to and from surgery. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse provides assistance to the patients and nursing staff, assisting with turnover of the rooms between cases, selecting correct supplies and instruments following a preference card and transferring/positioning of patients. In addition, the Surgical Services Support Aide is responsible for maintaining optimum inventory of supplies utilized in the OR suite. A critical attribute required of this position is exceptional interpersonal customer service consisting of an outgoing positive attitude, warm friendly and joyful demeanor and providing the utmost care and reverence for our guests, patients, families, customers and colleagues.
Essential Functions
- Maximize use of computer systems.
- Perform actions that demonstrate accountability.
- Demonstrate accuracy and completion in work, quality of work and meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrate good problem-solving skills.
- Coordinates returning and tracking of outgoing freight.
- Coordinates the receipt and distribution of incoming freight.
- Perform stock rotation and reviews stock for shelf life
- Coordinate the restocking of supplies in the remote stock locations
Qualifications and requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
