Floor Housekeeper

Position Summary:

The Housekeeper performs housekeeping activities at Mendelson Assisted Living Home.

This is a full time position. Hours are 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. No weekends, no holidays.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follow cleaning schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.).
• Clean and vacuum assigned rooms according to established housekeeping procedures.
• Responsible for cleaning resident bedding, linens and towels.
• Responsible for economical use of supplies, care and use of equipment.
• Responsible for cooperating with other employees to promote efficiency and morale of department.
• Participate in in-service programs, fire and disaster drills; and respond to fire alarms by immediately going to the scene of fire.
• Follow Infection control policy/procedures, which include proper handwashing and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Qualifications:
• High School diploma/GED required.
• Previous housekeeping experience is a plus.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, resident, family members, visitor, government agencies/personnel and the general public
• Must possess ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
• Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Must promote a positive work environment.

Physical and Sensory Requirements (with or without the aid of Mechanical Devices)

• Must be able to move throughout the work day (sit, stand, bend kneel, squat and walk)
• Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner
• Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
• Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of the position can be fully met.
• Must meet the general health requirement set forth by the policies of the facility which include a medical and physical examinations
• Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
• Must be able to push, pull and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
