Corporate Health & Safety Intern

The  Corporate Health and Safety Intern  help improve the safety culture and to meet / exceed regulatory and corporate policy requirements. The position is intended for an Occupational Health and Safety or Industrial Engineering undergraduate or graduate student to obtain hands-on experience with a wide variety of tasks while contributing to the company’s overall goals and objectives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Assist in developing and maintaining EHS training programs. Assist Corporate H&S Manager with maintaining safety and training records of field staff Co-lead Corporate Safety Committee. Support daily H&S activities (i.e., audits, incident investigations, corrective action follow-up etc.) in various industries and environments. Assist Project Managers and supervisors with work planning and development of job hazard analysis and safe work procedures Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Other duties as assigned. Education and Skills Required : Junior, Senior, or Graduate student in Occupational Health and Safety or Industrial Engineering, or closely related degree with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), and computer skills are mandatory. Excellent, organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills. Possesses knowledge of OSHA regulations and other safety-related procedures. Must be a team player and possess a collaborative attitude. Willingness to learn and adapt to change. Be self-motivated. Prior internship and / or related engineering experience are a plus. Loureiro Engineering Associates, Inc.
