What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Assessment Development Associate position at Loureiro Engineering Associates?
At Loureiro Engineering Associates, we are seeking a talented Environmental Assessment Development Associate to join our team. As an integral part of our team, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced environmental scientists, geologists, and engineers on various projects involving environmental permitting, impact assessments, wetlands delineations, site assessments, sampling programs, remedial activities, and data interpretation and analysis.
This internship offers a unique chance to apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting, multiplying your skills tenfold from day one. Our 12-week program is designed to provide hands-on experience, fostering curiosity and growth. You will collaborate with our diverse team of experts to tackle real-world challenges, meeting clients' evolving needs.
The role involves assisting with:
- Environmental permitting and licensing
- Phase I Environmental Site Assessments
- Sampling programs for soil, groundwater, surface water, and sediment
- Soil boring and groundwater monitoring well installation, water level measurements, elevation surveying, aquifer testing, and preparing logs and diagrams
- Remediation projects
- Operation, monitoring, and maintenance of remedial systems
- Conducting project-related research (historical data, regulations, etc.)
- Tabulating, analyzing, and interpreting data, and preparing figures
- Preparing reports, work plans, correspondence
We seek candidates with a strong academic background in Environmental Science, Geology, or related fields, possessing excellent communication, writing, and computer skills. A collaborative attitude, self-motivation, and willingness to learn are essential qualities for this role. Prior internship and/or related experience are highly valued.

The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000-$80,000, depending on qualifications and location.
