Job Description:
- The SPT I support specimen processing by handling, sorting, and preparing lab samples for testing. This role requires strong data entry skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced lab environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, sort, and prepare specimens for lab testing (e.g., centrifugation, aliquoting).
- Accurately enter data (6,000 keystrokes/hour).
- Follow strict safety and compliance protocols in a biohazard setting.
- Adapt to changing priorities and maintain high productivity/quality standards.
- Work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with lab staff.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: No prior experience needed, but lab/hospital experience is a plus.
- Skills: Basic computer proficiency, ability to learn medical terminology, and strong organizational skills.
Physical Demands: Able to sit/stand for long periods in a lab setting.
