Part-Time Cosmetology Instructor (Natural Hair Focus)

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Part-Time Cosmetology Instructor to join our team and educate aspiring cosmetologists with a focus on natural hairstyling techniques. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and engaging educator who can create a positive and supportive learning environment. This role requires the ability to develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans, provide hands-on instruction, and foster a love for the art of cosmetology. Additionally, the instructor will be responsible for capturing and sharing the vibrant learning experience through our school's social media platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Instruction:
• Deliver engaging and informative lectures and practical demonstrations on basic natural hairstyling techniques, including but not limited to braiding, twisting, and styling natural hair.
• Provide individualized instruction and guidance to students, ensuring they grasp fundamental concepts and develop practical skills.
• Create and maintain a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
• Curriculum Development:
• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and industry standards.
• Create engaging and interactive learning materials, including presentations, handouts, and practical exercises.
• Brainstorm and implement new and exciting ideas into the curriculum.
• Student Evaluation:
• Evaluate student progress through practical assessments, written exams, and participation.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including attendance, grades, and performance evaluations.
• Promptly grade assignments.
• School Involvement:
• Participate in school activities and events, contributing to a vibrant and collaborative school community.
• Assist with the organization and execution of student projects and presentations.
• Social Media Management:
• Maintain an active professional social media presence.
• Capture high-quality photos and videos of class sessions and student work.
• Create engaging weekly social media posts for the school's platforms, showcasing student progress and the learning environment.
• Professionalism:
• Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
• Adhere to school policies and procedures.
• Be punctual and prepared for all scheduled classes.
• Be self motivated, friendly, and positive.

Qualifications:

• Valid cosmetology license [State/Region].
• Proven experience in natural hairstyling techniques.
• Previous teaching or training experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop and deliver engaging lesson plans.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Positive attitude and a passion for education.
• Experience with social media platforms and content creation.
• Must be reliable and punctual.

Schedule:

• Tuesdays: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
• Thursdays: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• Fridays: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• One Saturday a month from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 per week
