Job Summary
The Floater at Lovin’ Touch Learning Center provides flexible support across various classrooms and areas of the childcare facility. This role involves assisting teachers, supporting children's needs, covering staff absences, and helping maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment throughout the center.
Key Responsibilities
Classroom Support:
- Assist lead and assistant teachers in various classrooms as needed, providing support with activities, lessons, and daily routines.
- Help manage classroom behavior and ensure that children are engaged and following the schedule.
- Provide additional support during transitions, meal times, and rest periods.
Child Supervision:
- Supervise and monitor children across different age groups to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Step in to cover staff absences, breaks, or lunch periods in any classroom or area as required.
- Support children during outdoor play, field trips, or other special activities.
Flexibility and Adaptability:
- Be adaptable to work in different classrooms or areas of the center, depending on daily staffing needs.
- Quickly learn and follow the routines, procedures, and expectations of each classroom to provide consistent care.
- Assist in implementing emergency procedures, such as evacuations or lockdowns, when necessary.
Communication:
- Communicate effectively with lead teachers, assistant teachers, and the center director regarding any observations or concerns.
- Provide feedback and updates to classroom teachers about children's behavior, progress, and needs.
- Interact with parents professionally, directing any questions or concerns to the appropriate staff member.
Classroom and Facility Maintenance:
- Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment in all areas of the center.
- Help sanitize toys, equipment, and surfaces, and assist with set-up and clean-up of classroom activities.
- Monitor and replenish supplies as needed, ensuring that each classroom is well-equipped
Collaborating with Staff:
- Work closely with all staff members to provide consistent support and coverage throughout the center.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a positive and collaborative environment, contributing to the overall success of the center.
Compliance and Regulations
- Follow all center policies, procedures, and state licensing regulations to ensure a safe and compliant environment.
- Report any safety concerns, incidents, or maintenance needs to the lead teacher or center director promptly.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Coursework or experience in early childhood education is a plus
- Experience working with young children in a childcare, educational, or similar setting
- Strong flexibility and adaptability to work in various roles and environments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for working with children.
