What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Toddler Teacher position at Loving Life Child Care?
Loving Life Child Care is a 2 STAR, Christian focused, preschool and childcare center. We are located in Northampton County, at 675 Blue Mountain Drive, Cherryville, PA. We are looking for extremely DEDICATED teachers, who have GREAT work ethic, EXPERIENCE working with infants and who have schedule flexibility, to join our LLCC Family. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday - 6:00am to 6:00pm.
Pay rate for this position is between $12 and $15 an hour depending on your Child Care Experience/Background and Early Childhood Education in this field.
Employment Requirements:
- MUST be available to work Monday thru Friday 30-40 hours per week, with additional hours available in the future.
- Current PA child abuse, NSOR, criminal background history check and FBI clearances (Will help you obtain these if needed)
- Physical and TB (Required before your official start date)
- HS diploma or GED
- CDA, Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree (Preferred, pay negotiable with these)
- 2500 hours of previous child care experience--previous center work, babysitting, nanny, church ministries
- 2 letters of recommendation
Job Duties:
- Routine toddler care - safety and supervision of children between the ages of 1 and 2 years
- Maintain state required child to teacher ratios
- Follow the center's schedule and our Mission
- Foster a positive co-worker relationship in your classroom and among the center
- Build trust and rapport with our families
- Create an inviting toddler classroom environment that includes decorations, bulletin boards and wall décor
- Incorporate a daily schedule in the classroom
- Be prepared with all your supplies for your day before you start your shift
- Teach the Early Learning Standards of Education through way of social and emotional interactions, music, dramatic play, art activities, outdoor play, etc.
- Teach the Bible through stories and songs
- Change diapers and assist children with potty training
- Serve children's snacks and lunches each day, followed by cleanup
- Assist the children with naptime routines
- Keep classroom clean and organized throughout the day
- Implement appropriate discipline strategies when children are misbehaving
